0030-0003-0038 Drop detector sync issue

Anyone deal with this yet? Ran through the troubleshooting and the suggested cleaning and lubing. Still pops the error randomly.

Time for feedback. Don't depend on the front power switch for reboots, use the rear switch. Turns out the aforementioned error and a print quality issue have become non issues by rebooting from the rear switch every morning. HP support is aware of the issue we'll see if the next firmware release addresses them.

Just had this error for the first time since I last posted on this thread, turning it off and back on at the back power switch did the trick.

Well, it's back. Cycling power clears it for a while then it shows up again. Cleaned the encoder and rail but that had no effect. Think I'll reload the firmware, couldn't hurt.

I was having that issue on one of my 8000s. After four or five tries, the tech finally got it fixed by lubing some sort of rail that the maintenance carriage rode on. (Sorry I can't offer more details... I wasn't watching him the whole time he worked on it.)
