Ink yields

Post by dlee »

What are the yields? I can't find it anywhere, even Google. I know there are factors such as coverage but an average would suffice.

I didn't find it either. It's a top secret spec. You can always pull out 1 set of cartridges, that way you know when you run out of ink, and check your footage under the usage icon. It has a ink consumption area, take a pic or write down the footage at the point of a new ink cartridge. Then check it again at the next ink change. Do it for all colors. Not sure how much color you use, but we don't go though very much color mostly black. Had color go bad just sitting in the printer too long.

Looks like that's what I'll have to do. Recently installed a KIP970 and the reason the customer went with the KIP over a Pagewide was because HP couldn't/wouldn't give them ink yields.

We have an HP XL 5100. After about 3 million s/f we are averaging about 13-14,000 s/f per 400ml cartridge. This is for black only as we do not print very much color on it. Hope that helps.
